Crimson Clover, common, certified organic - Cover Crop

  • $15.00

(Trifolium incarnatum)  Crimson clover is a winter annual or biennial clover with striking red flowers that emerge late in the first year or early in the second year when it overwinters.  Larger-seeded than many clovers it is relatively more vigorous in it's first year and can produce interesting quantities of foliage while fixing nitrogen through root associations with bacteria (like all legumes).  Good snow cover is crucial for winter survival and only likely in more temperate parts of Canada.  Pure stand seeding rate: 25-35 kg/ha (30-40 lbs/Ac)
